At the end of April Hyrum's grandmother passed away and the funeral just happened to be on Lyllee's seventh birthday (May 2nd). So, we decided to have a party on the weekend instead of on her actual birthday. I didn't want her to remember this birthday as the day she went to a funeral. However, I still wanted to make the day special for her so, we woke her up by singing Happy Birthday, ate donuts for breakfast and let her open a few presents. Around lunch time I surprised her in the school cafeteria with McDonald's! She was so excited that she jumped like 3 feet into the air. Then she had to let everyone around us know that it was her birthday and that she was having a "lunch date" with her mom! It was the cutest thing! We finished up lunch, said good-bye to her teacher and left for the funeral.
Lyllee really wanted a diary for her birthday. She is reading the letter I wrote to her in side the cover.
On Friday, we had a party for Lyllee. Here is the cake that I made for her party. Monster High was the wish for this years cake. It turned out pretty cute.
Lyllee and some of her cousins.
Madelyn was really interested in Lyllee's cake. She kept trying to take the doll off.
Our Birthday Girl! Love you Lyllee!
