My Best friends Wedding

One of my best friends from growing up got hitched this afternoon. Cyndee looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the isle, Jim couldn't take his eyes off of his bride to be. It was such a tender moment between those two. You could tell how happy and in love they are. I am so happy for Cyndee and Jim and the new adventure they have begun.

I had to sneak a picture of me and the beautiful bride.
We had a fantastic time at the wedding. The kids loved that it was up in the mountains and could explore the grounds. They loved all the little waterfalls and rocks they could climb on.

Dinner at the park

Dinner at Jensen Park with the kiddos tonight was pretty fun. We had a little picnic consisting of Little Caesars, bread sticks and soda. Then we walked around the park and fed the ducks. The kids think that we should come here everyday and feed the ducks.

A little gem in Layton, Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve.

We took the kids on a walk tonight to the bird refuge down the street. We have seen signs for it since we moved to our house a couple of years ago and have never made time to go and see it. It is a really beautiful place, there weren't too many birds, I think it's still a little too early in the year. (and it was kind of cold) But still, it was really pretty. We will have to go back again in a couple of weeks when it warms up a little bit more. Fun night out with the kiddos!

Guest bathroom redo

So I got this great idea that I wanted to give the guest bathroom a little face lift. The baseboards looked like they had been to a war of moisture and the walls were too bare. I thought this would be a super easy fix, we could switch out the baseboards to match the rest of the upstairs, paint the walls and put a frame around the mirror. Sounds simple enough right? WRONG!!

At first there wasn't a problem at all. Hyrum took all the baseboards out and I taped everything off and prepared to paint the cupboards. Oh did I forget to mention that I add to the list of things to do and decided that the bathroom would look that much better if we painted the cupboards to? So, after I sanded the cupboards I primed them, and then painted them. I added bead board to the cupboard doors. I love it!! That was easy.

After the cupboard was dry I covered it up and painted the walls. I had a little trouble around the tub, i'm too short. Anyways, it turned out great! So after that paint dried I sent Hyrum in to put up the new baseboards. Here's where our super easy redo started to turn into a nightmare. When Hyrum started putting the new baseboards up he found that the vinyl flooring was too short and there would be lots of holes everywhere. When the old baseboards got wet they expanded and the people that fixed up this house to sell it just put the vinyl flooring up to the expanded baseboards, not under them. So, now we have a new item on the list of things to do. Buy new flooring. Yay..

That vinyl didn't want to come out, but after a few hours Hyrum chipped the last bit away and we were able to start tiling. Hyrum did a beautiful tile job.
Here is our finished guest bathroom, I think it turn out just great! Maybe we will start on the master bathroom soon!! haha

Ward Halloween Party

We went to our ward's annual Chili and Chocolate Halloween party tonight. The kids always love going to this party because they get to dress up for Halloween. This year they had the kids walk across the stage showing off their costumes. It was so cute to see all the kids in their costumes.
Andy wanted to be a power ranger for Halloween this year, of course when we were going through all our old costumes he found his Darth Vader costume from last year and changed his mind. (Money well spent.)
Merida and Tangled took our little monkey across the stage, she didn't know quite what to think of that.

Hyrum sneaked a photo of the kids as they came down from the stage.

I love this, Merida is looking to see if Darth Vader is coming down.
Andy (Darth Vader) and Samantha (Merida)
Lyllee (Tangled) and Madelyn (little monkey)
(The little monkey was excited to get a sucker at the other side of the stage)
