Pool Party at the Taft's!

Somehow I ended up hosting an impromptu swimming party in our backyard this afternoon. The girls found a bunch of friends and talked me into blowing up our pools because "it's soo hot!! Please!! We want to swim in the pool to cool off!" They had a blast, I guess summer has begun.

They had the pools setup so they could run through some obstacles in each pool and then jump on the trampoline. It was quite the setup.

Samantha's Tumbling Review at Lightbox

Samantha got to celebrate her birthday doing flips and tricks at her tumbling review at Lightbox, luckily she didn't mind. She had a great time and has made a lot of progress this year.

Samantha's friend Crew was in her class.

We took Samantha out for dinner for her birthday afterwards.

Samantha's birthday

This beautiful girl has had a busy few weeks of fun. First she graduated preschool last Thursday,  she had an end of year tumbling review and she turned FIVE today! She's growing up so fast! Samantha's preschool class celebrated her birthday last week before school ended. She brought a poster that talked about her and a treat for everyone. She loved it when they all sang "Happy Birthday" to her!

Here are some of the things that were on her poster:

  • She wants to be a doctor when she grows up!
  • Her favorite Disney Princesses are Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
  • Her favorite colors are pink and purple.
  • Her favorite foods are chicken nuggets and fries.
  • Her favorite things to do are swimming, jumping on the trampoline and playing the Wii U with her older brother and sister.

Preschool graduate

Samantha graduated from Preschool today! She has enjoyed her time in Miss Dani's class this past year, she has been working really hard on her alphabet and numbers, and learning lots of fun songs, and even learning a little sign language and reading.

Samantha loves to wink. haha

April Swimming Lessons

Another session of swimming lessons has come to a close. The kids have made some improvements and mom has had kept her sanity while we have been off track. I was able to read a whole book in the two weeks! Madelyn has had a hard time just sitting on the side lines. She really just wanted to jump in and swim but, I have kept her pretty busy with toys, snacks and playing on my phone.

Update..

Yep, as you can see Kevin the minion is still with us. He has become part of the family, he is everywhere we are, running errands to the store, the dinner table, family prayers, he is there!
(In this picture the kids are wishing one of their favorite babysitters a happy birthday and asking her to come watch them soon! They are so sweet!)

I HEART my Minion!

Samantha wanted to make a minion box for her preschool Valentine party today. She loves this thing so much that it has been with her all day and when we went to tuck her into bed tonight, it was there too! (The minion even joined our family prayer tonight too! lol) Oh, and did I mention that she has named her minion Kevin? Yeah, I thought it would be a girl minion because of the bow on its head and the hearts on the pants.. She is so cute!

My little swimmers!

While we are off track I decided that we needed to find more ways to pass the time. So, I signed the kids up for swimming lessons. They have been having so much fun learning new skills and getting to play in the water. Madelyn has a bit of a hard time at swimming lessons, she doesn't like to be on the side lines just watching all the fun. She wants to get in the water!

They are having too much fun!

On the last day of class they ended early and let all the classes go play in the playground and then sent them home with a treat. They didn't want to get out of the water!
