The Cabin

My uncle invited me and my siblings families up to his cabin in the Strawberry Pinnacles. My mom and I baked two cakes for my niece Abi's birthday and my uncle Jay's birthday. My uncle's cake is a circuit board because he loves computers. My niece told us she wanted a flower cake that had the colors pink, yellow and purple on it. They both turned out pretty good.

Uncle Jay cleaning up after the amazing breakfast he cooked us!
Nana even came up to experience a bit of nature. haha The kids were so happy to have her there.
Andy and his cousin Collin had lots of fun shooting their bb guns.
My Aunt Terri and her son Landon hanging out in the cabin.
My sister and her little girl Izzy came up to stay overnight. Devyn had to work and couldn't come up with them.
These silly girls were inseparable. They had fun playing make believe games and bothering the boys so they would chase after them. I think they did that so they had an excuse to scream at the top of their lungs! lol

Landon and Braydon had a blast wrestling on the trampoline when the girls weren't bothering them.
I was able to snap this picture of my uncle and his son Elijah before they pulled a face, so there!
Madi loved to spend time with grandpa Parker.

Madi absolutely loved the singing fish! It was so cute to see her trying to touch the fish in between the songs. She would almost touch it when it would start moving and then she would be too scared and wait til it was done.

Pioneer Days in Lund, Nevada

For the past few years Hyrum's uncle Joe has invited us to come out for the fireworks and parade they have in Lund. They have a celebration the same time as we do when we celebrate Pioneer Day here in Utah and we usually have plans already. Well, this year we decided that we needed to go out and find out what this celebration was all about. I googled Lund city and found this, "Lund was settled in 1898 when the LDS saints came here. The city was named after Anthon H. Lund. I had no idea they celebrated Pioneer Day too! Go figure.

The kids were really excited to go on a trip! So we packed up the kids and headed for Uncle Joe's house.

The first evening we took the kids to their first Rodeo. Lyllee was so enchanted by all the Cowgirls that were there. One of them came and sat by us on the bleachers when her ride was over, Lyllee was so excited that she went over to her and introduced herself and told the Cowgirl that one day she was going to be a cowgirl just like her! It was the cutest thing!

Andy and Tanner had so much fun sitting together at the rodeo. Hyrum snapped a few photos of them. They are such great friends.

Madelyn fell asleep halway through and Samantha was busy playing with Mary Lou.

The next morning, Hyrum decided to run in the Lund 5K. He did awesome! His time was 23:08, and we think that he may have finished around tenth place.

After Hyrum got cleaned up we headed up to Main Street for the Parade! It was a small parade but, the floats went past twice. I think either to make it longer or so the people on the other side got to see everyone that went past. They threw out a lot of candy which my kids just loved!

Landon and Courtney in the parade.
Leatham, Meghan and Tanner in the parade. They threw foam rocks out to advertise their business.

We went back to the Rodeo that night but, the kids weren't as excited this time and got bored. They said that they had already seen that before. I guess the magic had worn off.  So we left early and drove around a bit to see the town. Dinner was really good. Uncle Joe and Patti know how to put together a great meal! Around 10 we sat out on the driveway and watched the fireworks show. It was by far the best show I have ever seen!! Amazing!

The trip was really short but, we had a lot of fun! Can't wait for next year!
