This is what happens when kids get quiet!

 So, after deep cleaning the upstairs all morning I decided to sit down at the computer for a few minutes and try to work on the blog. Samantha and Madelyn had been butting heads all morning and finally it sounded like they were playing really well together. Yeah... I guess that should have been a red flag right there.


Well, about five minutes after sitting down Samantha came over to me and said, "Mommy look at me!" I turned and about jumped through the ceiling! It scared me to death, I didn't even recognize who was standing right in front of me! Then she said, "Now I look just like Eli!" (Eli is one of Andy's friends in our neighborhood.)

This comment just made me laugh, but then suddenly it dawned on me that Madelyn was playing with Samantha. Panic ran right through me and I jumped up to see where Madelyn was. This is what I found next!

I started calling Madelyn's name and searching for her. I heard some laughter coming from the bathroom so when I went in I found this sweet face!

Of course all this happens right before we needed to pick up their brother and sister from school. So, I hurried and tossed them into the tub and got most of it off. They ended up looking like they had been in a fight and got black eyes. I tried to get the carpet cleaner out and it wouldn't work for me. So, I gave up since we needed to leave. Hyrum got it working after we got home from the gym and got most of the ink up. Next time I won't just ignore the quiet sounds of these two playing together!

Air Force Ball

Hyrum asked me earlier this week if I would be his date for the Air Force Ball. (He put the question in a block of ice that I had to bust open) Of course I said yes but, I gave him a cute answer anyways. (I spelled YES in glow in the dark stars above our bed. After that was all done I spent the next few days trying to find a dress, shoes and jewelry to wear. It is so hard to find a modest dress! However, I found one that was pretty decent and cute.

They had a professional photographer taking pictures. So we thought, "What the hay, let's get our picture taken!" Aww.. flashbacks from school dances.

Then we headed outside and took a few pictures with the jets.

Here was the menu of all the really tasty food that we got to eat. However, I didn't like the Tiramisu. That was really nasty! (Who would like coffee cake anyways)

 After the program and dinner was over we headed back out for more pictures with the jets since it wasn't so bright anymore.

We went back in a danced the night away, I had to take my heels of because they were slowing me down. It was a really fun night out with my sweetie!

Samantha's First day of preschool

Okay so the title of this post is deceiving. It is actually Samantha's third day of preschool. She started last week while we were in California. I felt bad that I missed her first day and didn't get any pictures taken. So, Samantha and I discussed it and decided that we could take pictures on the third day and pretend it was her first day all over again. She really wanted me to take a picture of her and her backpack.

 She got right to work when we went into class. She loves to color.

 "Okay mom, it's time for you to go!"

Last full day of bliss! (Day six)

We decided to sleep in today since this is our last day before we leave. We thought, "why not sleep in, we have been getting up early every morning." We headed over to Disneyland one last day and rode a couple of our favorite rides again and bought another Dole Whip! Yummy! While we ate our whips we sat along main street and people watched. It was kind of fun. There was an event going on today called Dapper Day. Lots of people were dressed up from earlier time periods. It was cool to see all the different outfits people came up with. I should have taken a few pictures.. oh well. I did take a picture of the quartet that was singing on our way into the park. After they were done singing they rode away on their four person bike. It was cool.

We headed back to the hotel after walking through the Disney stores, Hyrum had to put a stop to my spending. I could come up with so many reasons why we NEEDED to buy this and that..

We drove over to Seal Beach in the evening and ate at Beachwood BBQ! OH MY, the food there is AMAZING!!! If you ever find yourself in Seal Beach, go there! We walked out to the beach afterwards, got in the water, looked for shells and walked along the beach as the sun went down. It was the best ending to our vacation.

California Adventure (Day Five)

We had a fun day at Disney's California Adventure park. We got there a few minutes before the gates opened and were able to walk right on to the best ride in the park, the Cars Ride!! It was great! This is the line behind us for the Cars Ride. We made it to the front of the line!

The day was perfect once again. There weren't any long lines on any of the rides and we were able to hit all the rides we wanted to ride by noon! My only complaint for the day was when we rode Soarin' Over California I got sick. That took a while to recover from. lol Hyrum got me to ride the California Screamin' ride again. Whew, that one is fast!

After lunch we decided to head back to the hotel and get cleaned up, wash some laundry ( I know, we are super cool like that) and figure out what we were going to do the rest of the night. We ended up walking over to the Garden Grove Center, ate dinner at Johnny Rockets and then drove over to the movie theater and saw The Wolverine! Awesome movie!! And that was day five.

Disneyland (Day four)

Today is our TENTH wedding anniversary! To start our day off right we walked over to Disneyland. They opened the gates and we flew over to the first ride on our list, STAR TOURS! We were first in line, oh yes!! I loved this ride last year when Hyrum took me and the kids for our first Disney trip ever. Hyrum didn't get to ride it so, we made sure that we went here first. It was so fun!

Then we headed over to the Space Mountain. So fun!

Today was just perfect, no long lines and we got to ride every ride together! We had all the best rides done by noon and had the rest of the day to just hang out. We also found the Dole Whips that everyone kept telling us to get. Yes, they are really good and so worth the money!  We will have to go back for another one before we leave.

 We had to get a picture with Merida. My kids would be so mad if we didn't stop by to say hi.


We walked back to the hotel around three so we could get cleaned up and get ready for our Anniversary dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

 We got there a little early and walked around the Disney Shopping District. We thought the Lego store was pretty cool.

After dinner our waitress brought us a little dessert to help us celebrate our special day. 

All day I've been thinking about how lucky I am to have Hyrum in my life. He is everything that I ever dream of for a husband. He is smart, kind, loving, a wonderful father, and he is quite the hottie! I love his great outlook on life and how happy he always is. I love how happy he makes me, he makes me feel like I am his number one always. I love him more than words can say.
