Pioneer Day Highlights

We had a lot of fun watching the Bountiful parade this year. They threw out tons of Taffy, Otter Pops, and COUPONS! lol Andy didn't like all the sirens and the helicopter that flew over us. He did enjoy all the candy and Popsicles. He was pretty quiet the whole time until the truck carrying the bounce house came by. He screamed "JUMP!!!" and tried to go over there and get in.

As the troops went by, it reminded me of my brother Jeremy and how he is serving in Afghanistan right now. He is so amazing to serve our country like that.

After the parade we went up to Mueller Park for the Fireworks! We were early enough to find a good spot up on the baseball field. We laid out our blankets, set up our chairs and sat back watching the kids play. The fireworks were really good this year. Being right underneath them is a lot better than seeing them from a distance. Poor Andy was scared of them at first. He never took his eyes off them but, his little body just shook most of the time. Lyllee hid her face under the blanket the whole time. lol She didn't want to watch. Sami on the other hand, watched the whole thing. The big booms didn't scare her one bit. The finale was great. One of the best! I just wish that my camera's battery hadn't died right before the fireworks started. *sigh* Oh well.
